Split ZOO is located on Marjan Hill, requiring a bit of physical effort to reach. The easiest way to get there is by climbing the Marjan Stairs near the church and monastery of St. Francis (sv. Frane) on the Split Riva. Once you reach the First Lookout (Prva Vidilica) on Marjan, you’ll need to walk uphill for another 200 meters to St. Nicholas Church (sv. Nikola). From there, continue climbing for a few more minutes, and you’ll find yourself at the entrance to the zoo. The entire climb from the Riva to the zoo entrance takes about 20 minutes on average.
